Engage the Word 2012

Picture
The Bible tells us, "The word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double-edge sword. It cuts all the way through, to where the soul and spirit meet, to where joints and marrow come together. It judges the desires and thoughts of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12).  The Bible is where we learn to hear God's voice.
Engage the Word is a forty day interaction with the Scriptures in order to learn what God is saying to us through His Word.  Each day you are encouraged to PRAY, READ, REFLECT, AND RESPOND.
  • PRAY and ask God to connect with me here.  Beginning with focus and openness to see what God has for me.
  • READ the selected selection of Scripture slowly.  Marking the words and phrases that intrigue me, reading them a second time.
  • REFLECT on what grabs me here.  Thinking through what God is communication to me; stopping long enough to let this take root and thanking God for engaging me.
  • RESPOND to the passage. Speaking directly to God about what’s on my mind and heart. Looking for ways to live out what I find – individually and with my church Looking for ways to bring what I find to others.

Pastor Norman spoke about the Power of God's Word.  You can hear that message here.

Below are the readings for the forty day emphasis in the fall of 2012.   If you wish you can also review the 2011 series.

Did you know...

Reading the Word of God four times a week or more has a significant impact on a person’s world view, attitudinal habits, and behavioral choices?

Recent studies by the Centre for bible Engagement discovered those who engage in Bible reading four or more times per week experience a much higher level of health and emotional stability?

Young people engaged in reading Scripture at least four times a week are much less likely to be involved in sex outside of marriage, gambling, drugs, pornography or other risky behaviours?

Reading God’s Word regularly feeds our hearts and minds with truth and inspiration, ushers us into His presence and invites us to a close communion with Him.
Sunday Services: Tagalog (9:00), English (10:45 am)
