District Assembly Tours - Saturday July 15
We are looking forward to your visit to Whitehorse for the Canada Pacific District assembly.
We will be offering various tours on Saturday morning, July 15. The first four options are MORNING options, meaning we will be back in time for those who need to catch the 2:20 pm Air North flight out of Whitehorse on July 15. Options 5 and 6 are either all day or afternoon/evening opportunities. Tour pickup location will be the Sternwheeler Hotel (downtown Whitehorse).
Please review the options below. Check the links for more information. When you are ready, please make your reservation on or before July 5.
Note that options 4 and 5 are paid tours (inlcudes a fee). The other tours are free. If you choose option 4, please be sure to etranfer the fee as instructed below. If you choose option 5, please contact the tour operator (through the link provided) to arrange payment for that tour.

Option 1: Downtown Scenic Bus Tour (3 Hours) - departs 9 AM
Sites include:
- The Iron Horse landmark of Whitehorse
- The S.S. Klondike, built in Whitehorse, launched in 1929 to carry goods and passengers
- The Old Log Church, with the story of the Bishop who ate his boots
- The Whitehorse Visitors’ Center (includes a 15 minute video on the Yukon)
- The Log Skyscraper, the tallest log "skyscraper"
- The White Pass building with the history of the gold rush era
- The Kwanlin Dün Cultural Center with a focus on First Nations

Option 2: Miles Canyon Hike (3 Hours) - departs 9 AM
Miles Canyon is an ancient canyon on the Yukon River, located just minutes from downtown Whitehorse. You'll have the chance to hike to the historic "Canyon City" while enjoying a view of the Yukon River, and as you follow in the footsteps of our Yukon pioneers who travelled along the Yukon River to the gold rush town of Dawson City. Please note that this is a moderate 3.5km hike. A light jacket, good walking shoes, and bottled water are recommended.

Option 3: Yukon River Valley (1.5 hours) - departs 10:00 AM - THIS OPTION IS CANCELLED
Enjoy a leisure hike and appreciate our Father’s creation in a short, easy walk along the McClintock ridge and Yukon River Valley, with great views of the Whitehorse Valley. Bring a sunhat, camera and light jacket in case of wind. Great photo opportunities!

Option 4: Yukon Wildlife Preserve (2.5 hours) - departs 10:30 AM - FEES APPLY
The Yukon Wildlife Preserve offers you the opportunity to enjoy and experience a dozen or more Yukon species in a large natural landscape, covering 350 acres. The preserve is home to wood bison, moose, muskox, dell sheep, mule deer, mountain goat, cariboo, artic fox, etc.
This tour will include a 90 minute bus tour within the preserve. Fees do apply (Adult $28, Youth $18). To make a reservation, please eTransfer your fee to the Whitehorse Church of the Nazarene ([email protected]) so that the church can send in payment for you. If the trip is cancelled, your payment will be refunded. Be sure to indicate your name in the note area of the transfer and indicate that it is for the Wildlife Preserve reservation.

Option 5: Skagway, Alaska, USA (10 Hours) - FEES APPLY
An incredible trip through some absolutely amazing scenery and a stop at the top of the White Pass Summit as you enter into Alaska. This trip will take you to the historic port town of Skagway, Alaska. A passport is needed to cross the USA border. Option 6: Afternoon/Evening Activities
There are several options for the afternoon and/or evening, including a trip up to Braeburn Lodge (home of gigantic cinnamon buns), and, if you are a Sam McGee fan you will get the chance to dip your toe in "the marge of Lake Lebarge". If you are in Whitehorse Saturday afternoon and evening and would like to participate in a tour, please select option 6 to let us know you are available. You can select option 6 AND one of the first four morning options if you wish.
