Regular Adult Bible Study (Sunday mornings)

The regular Adult Bible Study (Sunday mornings at 9:45 am) follows the curriculum from WordAction Publishers, providing a comprehensive study of themes and books of the Bible.

December 2017 - February 2018
Isaiah's Messianic Hope
Isaiah's hope for Israel was founded on a clear vision of God's holiness, power, and faithfulness. This hope was embodied in the person of the Lord's Servant, the Messiah. In the advent of Jesus Christ, this hope is revealed to all people; and by His death and resurrection, this hope is fulfilled in all who receive Him as Savior and Lord. This unit will explore the rich resources of Isaiah's prophecy - how it helped shape the way the early church understood Christ's mission, and its continuing meaning for believers today..

March - May 2018
Women in the Bible
Examine the lives of influential women in Scripture and their unique roles in salvation history. Explore the ways God is empowering transformation in men and women today.

June - August 2018
Jeremiah / Lamentations

September - November 2018
God Calls a People
God has always had a people. The Bible records how the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob became a nation. Follow the Israelites on the amazing and perilous adventure from slavery in Egypt to the conquest of Canaan. Along the way, see how God interacts with his people, calls leaders, and instructs them in what it means to be God's holy people..

December 2018 - February 2019
Unit 1: The Savior Comes
Celebrate the birth of Jesus by contemplating the extraordinary stories leading up to the Messiah's coming, culminating in the Savior entering the world in total vulnerability as a baby in a manger.

Unit 2: The Savior Among Us
The Son of God came to earth and made his dwelling among us! We know it as the incarnation. Explore teachings and miracles in the life and ministry of Jesus as found in the book of Luke.

How to Get the Most out of Study

Look for ways to be open to God's presence and direction in your life by being open!

1. Open your eyes to the truth of God's Word. God has given us His Word in written form. By reading and studying God's Word, we stay in touch with what it means to be in right relationship with God. Hiding God's Word in our hearts helps us stay on the godly path (Psalm 119:11).

2. Open your ears to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Each day we should be sensitive to the leading of God's Spirit in our lives. If we are listening to God's voice first and foremost, we will be able to turn a deaf ear to the voices that try to lead us astray.

3. Open your heart and life so you can be the hands and feet of Christ in the world. This means living daily in obedience to God and reflecting His image in the things we say and do. Serving God by serving others will help keep us focused on God's call on our lives.
