Regular Adult Bible Study (Sunday mornings)
The regular Adult Bible Study (Sunday mornings at 9:45 am) follows the curriculum from WordAction Publishers, providing a comprehensive study of themes and books of the Bible.
March - May 2017
Unit 1: Jesus: The Final Journey
This unit looks at specific events that took place during the last week of Jesus' life. Through this study, you will travel with Jesus along His final journey, from His promise of the Holy Spirit to His resurrection.
Unit 2: The Good and the Not-So-Good
During this unit we will examine the lives of a diverse group of men and women. Some of these people were God's good and great followers, while others were treacherous and full of deceit. Despite the condition of their hearts, each had a role in the unfolding story of redemption.
June - August 2017
Unit 1: Sermon on the Mount
Jesus' message from his Sermon on the Mount finds its way into our hearts and minds and encourages us to live in ways that reflect the character of our Holy God. This unit looks at selected passages from these challenging words of Jesus.
Unit 2: A Charge to Keep: 1 Timothy
Explore Paul's first letter to Timothy and discover how the first-century letter was written to us as well.
How to Get the Most out of Study
Look for ways to be open to God's presence and direction in your life by being open!
1. Open your eyes to the truth of God's Word. God has given us His Word in written form. By reading and studying God's Word, we stay in touch with what it means to be in right relationship with God. Hiding God's Word in our hearts helps us stay on the godly path (Psalm 119:11).
2. Open your ears to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Each day we should be sensitive to the leading of God's Spirit in our lives. If we are listening to God's voice first and foremost, we will be able to turn a deaf ear to the voices that try to lead us astray.
3. Open your heart and life so you can be the hands and feet of Christ in the world. This means living daily in obedience to God and reflecting His image in the things we say and do. Serving God by serving others will help keep us focused on God's call on our lives.
