Night 77 - June 8
Pizza Creating Contest: We made four pizzas in total - two made by the girls and two made by the guys.
Two pizzas were made with original toppings (cheese, pepperoni, sause, pineapple, etc.), and two were made with candy and sweets (gummies, marshmellow sause, chocolate topping, skittles, etc.)!
The two normal pizza's were gone in a flash, they tasted so good, even the one the boys made!
The two treatsa pizzas were okay as long as you ate the candy toppings and not the bread base.
We warmed up the treatsa pizzaS in the oven, which caused the skittles to melt, the sweet chocolate to boil, and the gummy frogs to explode!
Those two pizzas were an amazing sight. Of course, it didn't help that someone spilled pop all over them!
After we ate the pizza we prepared for the youth garage sale, and then we had our devotional.
The devotional went overtime, but it was a really good devotional that will stick with me.
Night 78 - June 15
Movie Night: We were planning on going to Wolf Creek, but because of weather we stayed behind.
We pulled out the projector and watched a movie called 8 Below.
The movie is about a man who works in Antarctica as a guide.
Because of a deadly storm, him and the whole crew had to evacuate everybody and leave the land of ice.
The man's sled dogs were like family to him, but he had to leave them behind because there wasn't enough room on the plane.
The dogs were forced to survive on their own in the cold climate until their master found them, but that would prove to be a bit of a challenge.
The movie is a good example of how someone can love their animals so much that they would do anything to rescue them when in danger.
I hope they make a sequal to this movie, because it was real good.
Night 79 - June 22
Campground Hangout: We went to Wolf Creek, and it wasn't even raining!
We started the night by making some smores and roasting some marshmellows... which were very tasty.
After that we went on a hike around the Yukon River/Wolf Creek Area. There were so many bugs!
But we made it out alive. The devotional was about our walk with God.
Our walk as a Christian can be very similar to the walk we took in the woods.
Just as there are bugs that annoy you during the hike in the woods, there are temptations that annoy us in our walk with God.
Although there were difficult parts during that hike, there was also beautiful scenary all the way!
Just like there are freind you can walk with on hikes who you can have awesome conversations with, there will always be a friend who will stand by your side as you as you walk as a Christian - Christ Jesus.
As for me, I had an awesome hike. Lets do it again (but lets also remember the bug spray)!
Night 80- June 29
Just For Fun Danse Outreach: The Just For Fun Danse is a danse held every month geared towards people with special needs.
Throughout the night over $900 was raised to help a sick girl in a hospital! Our youth group was invited to host the games time, but due to rain we had to cancel out.
That's okay though, because we still did get to do one game while the local band that played took a break. It went over quite well, and people seemed to enjoy it!
Even though we weren't able to do all the games we planned for, the youth were able to hang out with everyone and get to know them a bit better.
All those people there were so nice! They made us all feel welcome, were extrememly frendly, and had a great sense of humor!
We were able to reflect God's love to them, which we should remember to do always. I believe that's what made the night worth it - Praise God!
