Night 61 - February 2
Snow Night: Originally we were going to have this event weeks ago, but it didn't work out, so we got to do it this night! After getting to our destination - a horse ranch - we got settled in and played snow games. Almost immediately we started throwing snowballs at each other, but then Megan got us together and made the game a bit more interesting. We were given a few minutes to build the best snow fort we could, and collect as many snowballs as we could. It was like dodge ball, only with snowballs. The goal was to hit someone on the opposite team with a snowball. Once hit twice (no head shots of course, this was hard snow), the person would be out. After that game we had a bit of a snow race. A person from each team needed to get on a sled, and two people from each team would pull the sleds. Which ever team went around a barrel set up close by and retured to the start line first would enter the next phase of the game first. The final phase took very long. Each team got a large pile of snow and a shovel to dig a cave with. One teams cave looked like it was built in the stone age, with a roof that was like what you'd see on the Flintstones. The other teams was different, there cave was more like a windy tunnel or a gopher hole. Both teams did good - one cave was comfortable and one cave was entertaining. After the youth leaders tested out the caves we went in the barn and had some steamy hot chocolate while listening to the devotional. Once we were done the devotional, we got some horses out and they pulled us on a sled around the ranch. Those things are strong! Once everyone got a chance to ride on the sled we gave the horses a break and drove home.

Night 62 - February 9
Wide Game: Gold Rush: We had another great outdoor experience at youth group. We were broken into teams and given a few minutes to build a snow fort as big as we could. Then we were given "gold" to put in our fort to defend - but because we didn't have gold we used little bottles of juice. The object of the game is to sneak into the other teams territory and take their "gold". If caught, you get to go to jail until someone rescues you. After the game, we all got two bottles of juice to drink... it was as good as gold!

Night 63 - February 16
Swimming: Swimming was lots of fun (even though we couldn't dunk Megan [because she didn't go in]). There was so much steam rising over the pool, you could hardly tell who anyone was. You couldn't keep your head above the water for too long, or else ice would form on your head! There was a really hot part of the pool, and a cooler part. If was fun being able roll around in the snow and quickly jump into the hot section. The best part was that there were no bugs in the pool - that's a great thing about outdoor winter swimming.

Night 64 - February 23
Movie Night: The movies we watched were Lord of the Rings: parts 1,2, and 3. Not only did we watch all three, but we watched all three extended versions of Lord of the Rings! It was an all nighter, and apparantly no one fell asleep!
